How it works
- If Runaway Steam-Kin has three or more +1/+1 counters on it, activate it by removing three +1/+1 counters from it, adding .
- Cast Squee from your graveyard or from exile by paying 1.
- Iraxxa and Runaway Steam-Kin trigger.
- Resolve the Iraxxa trigger, creating a 2/2 Alien Warrior creature token.
- Resolve the Runaway Steam-Kin trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
- Activate Phyrexian Altar twice by sacrificing Squee and the Alien Warrior, adding .
- Repeat.
This clever loop turns Squee, the Immortal into an endlessly recycled engine by taking advantage of his unique ability to be cast straight from the graveyard or exile. As you repeatedly cast him for three mana, Runaway Steam-Kin fuels the loop by stacking up counters from your red spells and then cashing them in for a burst of red mana. Meanwhile, Iraxxa, Empress of Mars takes full advantage of Squee's unconventional casting zone through her Paradox ability, constantly churning out 2/2 Alien Warrior tokens whenever you cast him from outside your hand. Finally, Phyrexian Altar acts as the ultimate sacrifice outlet, taking both Squee and the newly minted tokens off the board to continuously replenish the exact mana needed to keep casting Squee all over again.
