How it works

  1. If Runaway Steam-Kin has three or more +1/+1 counters on it, activate it by removing three +1/+1 counters from it, adding R manaR manaR mana.
  2. Activate Cormela by paying 1 and tapping it, adding U manaB manaR mana that can only be spent to cast instant and/or sorcery spells.
  3. Cast Molten Duplication by paying 1R mana.
  4. Runaway Steam-Kin triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on itself.
  5. Resolve Molten Duplication, creating a token copy of Cormela.
  6. Put the tapped Cormela into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
  7. When Cormela dies, it triggers, returning Molten Duplication from your graveyard to your hand.
  8. Repeat.

This clever loop is powered by a clever cycle of copying and recursive recovery, turning a single copy spell into an endless engine. By using Cormela, Glamour Thief's tapping ability to help fund Molten Duplication, you can generate a fresh token copy of Cormela that immediately replaces the original due to the legend rule. When that original Cormela dies, its triggered ability conveniently plucks Molten Duplication right back out of your graveyard so you can cast it all over again. Meanwhile, Runaway Steam-Kin watches every red spell you cast pile up counters, allowing you to regularly cash them in for the red mana needed to keep the duplication cycle spinning while fueling your pool with infinite black and blue mana along the way.
