How it works
If Grim Poppet has any -1/-1 counters on it, activate it by removing a -1/-1 counter from it.
Repeat step 1 as necessary until Grim Poppet has no -1/-1 counters on it.
Activate Atog by sacrificing Grim Poppet.
When Grim Poppet dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
Resolve the Atog ability.
Repeat.
Resolve all Grim Poppet abilities, putting infinite -1/-1 counters on any number of creatures.
This clever setup relies on Isilu, Carrier of Twilight—the reverse face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn—to grant your nontoken creatures persist, creating a seamless loop of sacrifice and resurrection. Once Grim Poppet enters the graveyard with the help of Atog, its persist ability brings it right back to the battlefield with a single -1/-1 counter, which it can immediately strip away using its own activated ability to spread misery to opposing boards. Atog happily devours the automaton whenever you need to restart the cycle, pumping its own power sky-high while feeding a relentless engine of infinite deaths and sacrifice triggers.
