How it works

1. Activate Steelfin Whale using the ability granted to it by Fire Whip by tapping it, dealing 1 damage to Smaug.
2. Smaug triggers, creating a Treasure token.
3. When the Treasure enters, Steelfin Whale triggers, untapping Steelfin Whale.
4. Repeat.

By outfitting Smaug the Impenetrable with Fire Whip, you transform the legendary dragon into a self-contained damage target that can tap to ping itself for one point of noncombat damage. This damage triggers Smaug the Impenetrable's ability to forge a Treasure token, which in turn satisfies Steelfin Whale's affinity-reduced cost and enters the battlefield to trigger the Whale's untap ability. Because Steelfin Whale immediately untaps whenever that Treasure enters, you can repeat the process to generate an endless loop of treasures, mana, and artifact triggers.
