How it works

  1. Cast Burnt Offering by paying B mana and sacrificing Scholar of the Ages, adding B manaB mana and then an amount of additional B mana and/or R mana equal to its mana value minus 2.
  2. Cast Corpse Dance with buyback by paying 4B mana, returning Scholar of the Ages from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  3. When Scholar of the Ages enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Burnt Offering and another instant or sorcery from your graveyard to your hand.
  4. Repeat.
