How it works

1. Cast the artifact by paying 0.
2. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers, earthbending Azorius Chancery.
3. Resolve the artifact spell.
4. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Azorius Chancery.
5. When Azorius Chancery dies, Toph, Hardheaded Teach triggers, returning Azorius Chancery from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
6. When Azorius Chancery enters, it triggers, returning the artifact cast in step 1 from the battlefield to your hand, as it's a land due to Toph, the First Metalbender.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Toph, the First Metalbender turning your zero-mana artifacts into lands, transforming them into reusable bouncers for Azorius Chancery. Whenever Azorius Chancery enters the battlefield, its bounce trigger targets the artifact, which immediately returns to your hand ready to be cast again. Each time you cast that artifact, Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers to earthbend Azorius Chancery into a creature, allowing you to feed it to Phyrexian Altar for any color of mana. Because Toph, Hardheaded Teacher also ensures that Azorius Chancery returns to the battlefield tapped whenever it dies or is exiled, the land instantly cycles back to trigger its bounce ability once more and keep the engine running indefinitely.
