How it works

1. Cast the artifact by paying 0.
2. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers, earthbending Azorius Chancery.
3. Resolve the artifact spell.
4. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Azorius Chancery.
5. When Azorius Chancery dies, Toph, Hardheaded Teach triggers, returning Azorius Chancery from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
6. When Azorius Chancery enters, it triggers, returning the artifact cast in step 1 from the battlefield to your hand, as it's a land due to Toph, the First Metalbender.
7. Resolve the Shilgengar ability

This clever loop turns the battlefield into a perpetual motion machine by leveraging Toph, the First Metalbender, whose static ability reclassifies all your nontoken artifacts as lands. With that foundation set, you cast a zero-mana artifact, letting Toph, Hardheaded Teacher trigger its spell-casting ability to earthbend Azorius Chancery into a land-creature. You then sacrifice Azorius Chancery to Shilgengar, Sire of Famine to generate a Blood token, which immediately triggers Toph, Hardheaded Teacher's earthbend-delayed safety net to bring Azorius Chancery right back to the battlefield tapped. Because Toph, the First Metalbender makes your zero-mana artifact count as a land, Azorius Chancery's own enters-the-battlefield trigger must return that artifact to your hand, ready to be recast and restart the cycle for an infinite cascade of sacrifice, landfall, and artifact triggers.
