How it works

1. Activate the Sliver that can be cast using by sacrificing it, adding .
2. The Sliver is put onto the top of your library instead of into your graveyard due to the replacement effect given to it by Pulmonic Sliver.
3. Cast the Sliver from the top of your library by paying its mana cost.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms your battlefield into a self-sustaining engine by turning a single Sliver into an infinite supply of black mana, triggers, and storm count. The magic happens because Basal Sliver grants every Sliver the ability to sacrifice itself for two black mana, while Pulmonic Sliver steps in with a vital replacement effect to rescue that sacrificed Sliver from the graveyard and place it right on top of your library instead. Meanwhile, The Lunar Whale pulls double duty: its static ability lets you peer at the top of your library at any time, while its other continuous effect ensures you can legally play that freshly redirected card right back onto the battlefield. By continuously cashing in the Sliver for mana and recasting it from the top of your library, the whole assembly feeds on itself indefinitely.
