How it works

1. Cast Kor Skyfisher by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and Oketra's Monument.
2. Defiler of Faith and Oketra's Monument trigger.
3. Resolve the Defiler of Faith trigger, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
4. When the Soldier enters, Auriok Champion triggers, causing you to gain life.
5. Resolve the Oketra's Monument trigger, creating a 1/1 Warrior creature token.
6. When the Warrior enters, Auriok Champion triggers, causing you to gain life.
7. Resolve Kor Skyfisher. When it enters, it and Auriok Champion trigger.
8. Resolve the Kor Skyfisher trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
9. Resolve the Auriok Champion trigger, causing you to gain life.
10. Repeat.

This ingenious loop relies on a brilliant cost-reduction stacking effect: together, Defiler of Faith and Oketra's Monument drop Kor Skyfisher's mana cost all the way down to zero, allowing you to cast it repeatedly for just a couple of life points. Every time the Kor Skyfisher enters the battlefield, its own drawback forces you to return a permanent to your hand, which conveniently scoops itself right back up to be cast again. Meanwhile, the cast triggers from both cost reducers flood the board with Soldier and Warrior creature tokens, and every single entry—tokens and Skyfisher alike—triggers Auriok Champion to steadily pad your life total.
