How it works

1. Put a +1/+1 counter on Herd Baloth.
2. Herd Baloth triggers, creating a 4/4 Beast creature token and a Food token.
3. When the Food token enters the battlefield, Builder's Talent's second ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Herd Baloth.
4. Repeat from step 2.

This enchanting loop transforms the simple act of placing a counter into a self-sustaining engine of growth and sustenance. Once Builder's Talent is at Level 2, its triggered ability watches for incoming noncreature, nonland permanents, creating a vital synergy with Peregrin Took, who generously appends an extra Food token to any token creation event. When you place a +1/+1 counter on Herd Baloth, it triggers to spawn both a 4/4 Beast and—courtesy of Peregrin Took—a Food token; that Food's entry immediately satisfies Builder's Talent, dropping yet another +1/+1 counter right back onto Herd Baloth to repeat the cycle endlessly. Through this perpetual motion, you amass an overwhelming army of creatures and infinite Food, which Peregrin Took can then sacrifice three at a time to draw your entire deck.
