How it works

  1. Activate Overgrown Estate by sacrificing a land.
  2. Repeat step 1 until you control no lands.
  3. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing World Shaper.
  4. When World Shaper dies, it triggers, return all lands from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
  5. When the lands enter, Emeria Shepherd triggers that many times.
  6. Resolve an Emeria Shepherd trigger that was triggered by a Plains, returning World Shaper from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  7. Resolve all remaining Emeria Shepherd triggers.
  8. Repeat

This clever loop transforms a mountain of sacrifices into an eternal cycle of rebirth, anchored by Emeria Shepherd's landfall ability turning any entering Plains into a direct ticket from the graveyard to the battlefield. You begin by feeding your real estate to Overgrown Estate to clean the board of lands and pad your life total, which simultaneously fills your graveyard and sets up the payoff. Then, Phyrexian Altar steps in to sacrifice World Shaper, whose death trigger floods the battlefield with all those departed land cards at once. Because those lands re-enter the battlefield, Emeria Shepherd triggers for each one, allowing you to use a Plains to pluck World Shaper right back out of the graveyard and repeat the entire spectacle indefinitely.
