How it works

1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Haywire Mite.
2. When Haywire Mite dies, it and Mortuary triggers.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Haywire Mite from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Haywire Mite trigger, causing you to gain 2 life
5. Resolve the Shilgengar ability.
6. Cast Haywire Mite from the top of your library by paying 1 life due to Gwenom.
7. Repeat.

This fascinating loop relies on Shilgengar, Sire of Famine to repeatedly sacrifice Haywire Mite, which generates a Blood token and triggers its death ability while gaining you life. Mortuary catches the dying Haywire Mite and places it directly on top of your library, bypassing the graveyard entirely. From there, Gwenom, Remorseless allows you to cast Haywire Mite right back off the top of your library, paying its life cost instead of its mana value safely behind your accumulated lifegain. The result is an engine that endlessly recycles your threats to flood the board and your life total alike.
