How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Nether Traitor, adding .
2. When Nether Traitor dies, Fumulus triggers, creating a creature token.
3. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the creature token, adding one mana of any color.
4. When the creature token dies, Nether Traitor triggers, causing you to pay to return Nether Traitor from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. Repeat.

This clever recursion engine relies on Phyrexian Altar to feed your mana pool while smoothly transitioning your graveyard back to the battlefield. Whenever you sacrifice Nether Traitor to the Altar, its death triggers its own revival cost of one black mana, which is conveniently paid for by the Altar's sacrifice activation. The addition of Fumulus, the Infestation turns every sacrifice into a cascading advantage, generating a 1/1 Insect token each time a nontoken creature hits the graveyard. Sacrificing that token back to Phyrexian Altar not only keeps the mana flowing for Nether Traitor's ability, but also triggers Fumulus's drain-and-gain effect whenever your new insect horde takes to the skies.
