How it works
Declare Excava and the creature with Breath of Fury attached as attackers.
Excava triggers, returning up to one creature with mana value 3 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield. It won't enter with a finality counter on it due to Solemnity.
Deal combat damage using the creature that has Breath of Fury attached.
Breath of Fury triggers, causing you to sacrifice the creature it is attached to, then attach Breath of Fury to another creature with mana value 3 or less, then causing you to untap all creatures you control and to get an additional combat phase after this one.
Repeat each combat phase.
This elegant loop centers on chaining extra combat phases with Breath of Fury, which enchants a creature to sacrifice it whenever it deals combat damage to a player, untapping your board in the process. To sustain this, Excava, the Risen Past resurrects that sacrificed creature with each attack, while Purphoros, Bronze-Blooded grants haste so your newly returned threats can immediately swing again. Finally, Solemnity does the heavy lifting by preventing Excava's finality counters from ever sticking, ensuring your recycled creatures can die and return to the battlefield indefinitely without getting permanently exiled.
