How it works

1. Declare Excava and the creature with Breath of Fury attached as attackers.
2. Excava triggers, returning up to one creature with mana value 3 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield. It won't enter with a finality counter on it due to Solemnity.
3. Deal combat damage using the creature that has Breath of Fury attached.
4. Breath of Fury triggers, causing you to sacrifice the creature it is attached to, then attach Breath of Fury to another creature with mana value 3 or less, then causing you to untap all creatures you control and to get an additional combat phase after this one.
5. Repeat each combat phase.

This clever loop turns your combat steps into an unstoppable, self-sustaining engine by exploiting a brilliant rules interaction with Solemnity, which completely nullifies the finality counters that Excava, the Risen Past would otherwise impose on resurrected threats. With Solemnity safely on the board, Excava brings back a low-mana creature every time she attacks without any lingering drawbacks, constantly restocking your board. Meanwhile, Breath of Fury keeps the momentum rolling by sacrificing that enchanted attacker upon dealing combat damage to untap your entire team, grant you an extra combat phase, and reattach itself to the next fodder creature in line. Frostcliff Siege fuels the fire even further by either drawing you endless cards in Jeskai mode or giving your attackers the necessary trample, haste, and stat buffs in Temur mode to ensure damage always punches through.
