How it works

1. Cast Chain of Smog by paying 1, targeting yourself.
2. Quandrix Pledgemage triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. Resolve Chain of Smog, causing you to discard two cards and copy Chain of Smog, targeting yourself.
4. Repeat from step 2.

By pointing Chain of Smog at yourself, you trigger a clever and relentless feedback loop that feeds directly into Quandrix Pledgemage. Each time you resolve the spell, you discard two cards as its initial cost, but its own reflexive targeting allows you to constantly copy it right back onto yourself. This unending cycle of casting and copying gives you an infinite number of repetitions to continually trigger the magecraft ability on Quandrix Pledgemage, piling on infinitely large stat boosts until your creature is ready to close out the game.
