How it works

1. Cast Chain of Smog by paying 1, targeting yourself.
2. Eager First-Year triggers, giving itself +1/+0 until end of turn.
3. Resolve Chain of Smog, causing you to discard two cards and copy Chain of Smog, targeting yourself.
4. Repeat from step 2.

By pointing Chain of Smog at yourself, you trigger a clever self-referential loop where you discard your own hand to copy the spell over and over again. Because Chain of Smog allows you to repeatedly target yourself with its own copy ability, you can sit back and repeat the process indefinitely. This continuous stream of spell copying triggers Eager First-Year's magecraft ability on every single iteration, pumping its power to staggering, lethal heights until end of turn.
