How it works

1. Activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing Wormfang Newt.
2. When Wormfang Newt dies, its second ability triggers, returning a Plains from exile to the battlefield.
3. When the Plains enters the battlefield, Emeria Shepherd triggers.
4. Holding priority, activate the Plains by tapping it, adding .
5. Resolve the Emeria Shepherd trigger, returning Wormfang Newt from your graveyard to the battlefield.
6. When Wormfang Newt enters the battlefield, its first ability triggers, exiling a Plains.
7. Resolve the Umbral Collar Zealot ability from step 1
8. Repeat.

This crafty loop relies on Wormfang Newt entering and leaving the battlefield to continuously trigger your land-based recursion. By sacrificing the Newt to Umbral Collar Zealot, you trigger its leave-the-battlefield ability to return an exiled Plains, which in turn triggers Emeria Shepherd's landfall ability to pull the Newt right back out of your graveyard. Because the Shepherd's ability allows you to put the returning permanent straight to the battlefield when a Plains triggers it, the Newt re-enters to exile that very Plains anew, allowing you to float white mana in response and feed the Zealot's sacrifice loop indefinitely.
