How it works

1. Activate War Elemental using Walking Ballista's second ability by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, dealing 1 damage to an opponent.
2. War Elemental triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on itself.
3. Repeat.

This lethal loop is masterminded by Agatha's Soul Cauldron, which allows your creatures with +1/+1 counters to inherit all activated abilities from exiled creature cards—granting Walking Ballista's counter-removal ability straight to War Elemental. By removing a counter to ping an opponent, War Elemental's triggered ability instantly rewards that damage by placing a +1/+1 counter right back onto itself, fueling the next iteration. Because Agatha's Soul Cauldron also lets you spend mana as though it were of any color and exiles cards to grow your board, it sets the stage while the synergy between War Elemental and Walking Ballista turns a single ping into an unstoppable cycle of infinite damage.
