How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Shepherd of the Cosmos, adding CC.
2. When Shepherd of the Cosmos dies, Fungal Fortitude triggers, returning Shepherd of the Cosmos from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. When Shepherd of the Cosmos enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Fungal Fortitude from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to Shepherd of the Cosmos.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms Ashnod's Altar into a boundless engine of mana and triggers by trapping Shepherd of the Cosmos in an endless cycle of sacrifice and resurrection. The secret lies in Fungal Fortitude, which not only gives the Shepherd a fatal push of extra power but ensures that every time it hits the graveyard, it immediately stumbles right back onto the battlefield. That triumphant return triggers the Shepherd's own ability, plucking Fungal Fortitude out of the graveyard to re-enchant it and prime the loop to run all over again.
