How it works

1. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Shepherd of the Cosmos.
2. When Shepherd of the Cosmos dies, Fungal Fortitude triggers, returning Shepherd of the Cosmos from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. When Shepherd of the Cosmos enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Fungal Fortitude from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to Shepherd of the Cosmos.
4. Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a modest resurrection effect into an infinite engine by relying on Fungal Fortitude to keep bringing back Shepherd of the Cosmos whenever it hits the graveyard. While Bartolomé del Presidio provides the necessary sacrifice outlet to fuel the cycle and grows progressively larger with endless +1/+1 counters, the Shepherd simultaneously retrieves Fungal Fortitude from the graveyard with every entry to ensure the protection never runs out.
