How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Shepherd of the Cosmos.
2. When Shepherd of the Cosmos dies, Necrogen Communion triggers, returning Shepherd of the Cosmos from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. When Shepherd of the Cosmos enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Necrogen Communion from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to Shepherd of the Cosmos.
4. Resolve the Woe Strider ability, causing you to scry 1.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on a recursive loop of destruction and resurrection powered by Woe Strider's sacrifice outlet. By feeding Shepherd of the Cosmos to Woe Strider, you trigger the protective aura of Necrogen Communion, which instantly returns the fallen Shepherd to the battlefield along with itself. That fresh entry lets Shepherd of the Cosmos pull the very same Necrogen Communion right back off the board and onto itself, leaving you free to repeat the entire cycle endlessly while riding Woe Strider's scry ability to victory.
