How it works

1. Cast Strength of Will by paying 1, targeting Deathbringer Thoctar.
2. Activate Deathbringer Thoctar by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, dealing 1 damage to it.
3. Deathbringer Thoctar triggers, putting two +1/+1 counters on it due to Lae'zel.
4. Activate Deathbringer Thoctar by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, dealing 1 damage to any target.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This loop turns Deathbringer Thoctar into a self-sustaining engine of destruction by using Strength of Will to redirect damage into growth rather than death. Once Strength of Will grants the Thoctar indestructible and the ability to convert incoming damage into +1/+1 counters, Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion steps in as the ultimate catalyst, ensuring every instance of damage or counter placement yields extra growth. Because Deathbringer Thoctar can then spend its accumulated counters to ping itself for damage—which simultaneously triggers its own death-counter ability and fuels its pinging ability—you can effortlessly loop the process to clear the board and deal infinite damage to any target.
