How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and The Immortal Sun.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Guide of Souls triggers, causing you to gain life and get E
4. Resolve Whitemane Lion. When it enters, it and Guide of Souls trigger.
5. Resolve the Whitemane Lion trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Guide of Souls trigger, causing you to gain life and get E
7. Repeat.

This elegant loop relies on the cost-reduction stacking of Defiler of Faith and The Immortal Sun to drop Whitemane Lion's mana cost down to absolute zero, allowing you to cast it repeatedly for just a couple of life points. Every time the Lion enters the battlefield, its own trigger forces it right back to your hand while simultaneously feeding the engine's other permanent pieces. Meanwhile, Defiler of Faith capitalizes on each cast by churning out an endless army of 1/1 Soldier tokens, which in turn constantly trigger Guide of Souls to flood your board with infinite energy counters and lifegain.
