How it works

1. Activate Benthic Biomancer by paying 1, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
2. Benthic Biomancer triggers, causing you to loot.
3. Queza triggers, causing you to gain 1 life and target opponent to lose 1 life.
4. Benthic Biomancer triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
5. Repeat from step 2.

It all begins when you activate Benthic Biomancer's adapt ability, which places a +1/+1 counter on it and triggers its own looting ability to draw a card. That card draw immediately commands Queza, Augur of Agonies to siphon life from your opponent while granting you life in return. Here is where Light of Promise works its magic: every point of life you gain triggers the enchantment to place a fresh +1/+1 counter back onto Benthic Biomancer. Because placing that counter restarts the entire cycle, you can repeat this self-sustaining sequence to grind your opponents down to nothing.
