How it works

1. Gain life.
2. Light of Promise triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Herd Baloth.
3. Herd Baloth triggers, creating a creature token.
4. When the creature token enters the battlefield, Leyline of Vitality triggers, causing you to gain 1 life.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This elegant loop sets up a self-sustaining cycle of growth and life. It all begins when you gain life, which prompts Light of Promise to pump up Herd Baloth with a +1/+1 counter. That influx of counters makes Herd Baloth trigger to produce a 4/4 green Beast token. As that new token arrives, Leyline of Vitality's static soul-sister ability steps in to hand you 1 life, seamlessly feeding right back into Light of Promise to keep the avalanche of counters and tokens rolling endlessly.
