How it works

1. Gain life.
2. Basking Broodscale triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on itself.
3. Basking Broodscale triggers, creating a creature token.
4. When the creature token enters the battlefield, Answered Prayers triggers, causing you to gain 1 life.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop starts with any initial life gain, which awakens the latent potential of Light of Promise to place a +1/+1 counter on Basking Broodscale. That counter placement triggers Basking Broodscale's ability to manufacture an Eldrazi Spawn token, which in turn causes Answered Prayers to trigger and hand you 1 life. Because gaining that life feeds right back into Light of Promise, the entire cycle instantly restarts to pump Basking Broodscale into an infinitely massive threat while generating boundless colorless mana and endless creature tokens.
