How it works

1. Give Deathbringer Thoctar lifelink, if needed.
2. Activate Deathbringer Thoctar by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, dealing 1 damage to any target and causing you to gain 1 life.
3. Deathbringer Thoctar triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on itself.
4. Repeat from step 2.

This brilliant loop turns **Deathbringer Thoctar** into a self-sustaining engine by utilizing its own activated ability to deal damage while **Light of Promise** quietly transforms every drop of that gained life into new +1/+1 counters. By removing a counter to ping any target, you trigger **Light of Promise**'s enchantment ability to replenish the counter you just spent, fueling the cycle indefinitely. Because **Deathbringer Thoctar**'s counters easily pay for its own damage output, you generate infinite damage and infinite life right on the spot.
