How it works

1. Cast Kokusho by paying 4.
2. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Kokusho.
3. When Kokusho dies, it and Enduring Renewal trigger.
4. Resolve the Enduring Renewal trigger, returning Kokusho from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Resolve the Kokusho trigger, causing each opponent to lose 5 life and you to gain life equal to the life lost this way.
6. Crystalline Crawler triggers, putting a number of +1/+1 counters on it equal to the life you gained.
7. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
8. Activate Crystalline Crawler's first ability six times by removing six +1/+1 counters from it, adding 4.
9. Repeat.

This cunning setup turns a legendary dragon's demise into an endless engine of life and doom. By feeding Kokusho, the Evening Star to Carrion Feeder, you trigger Enduring Renewal to seamlessly bounce the dragon right back to your hand rather than letting it stay in the yard. Meanwhile, the life drained from your opponents through Kokusho's death is channeled directly into Light of Promise, which pumps Crystalline Crawler full of a massive surge of +1/+1 counters each time you gain that life. You can then harvest those very counters using Crystalline Crawler's mana ability to generate the exact black and generic mana needed to recast Kokusho, fueling the loop infinitely.
