How it works

1. Cast Kokusho by paying 4.
2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Kokusho, adding .
3. When Kokusho dies, it and Enduring Renewal trigger.
4. Resolve the Enduring Renewal trigger, returning Kokusho from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Resolve the Kokusho trigger, causing each opponent to lose 5 life and you to gain life equal to the life lost this way.
6. Crystalline Crawler triggers, putting a number of +1/+1 counters on it equal to the life you gained.
7. Activate Crystalline Crawler's first ability five times by removing five +1/+1 counters from it, adding 4.
8. Repeat.

This loop turns the death of Kokusho, the Evening Star into an engine for infinite resources, heavily utilizing the passive support of your other permanents. Whenever Kokusho is sacrificed to Phyrexian Altar for mana, Enduring Renewal immediately catches the dragon as it hits the graveyard and loops it right back to your hand. Meanwhile, Light of Promise acts as a vital bridge: the life gained from Kokusho's death triggers Light of Promise to stack a massive pile of +1/+1 counters onto Crystalline Crawler, which you can then crack for an abundance of colored mana to recast the dragon and keep the cycle spinning.
