How it works
Cast Pelakka Wurm by paying 4.
When Pelakka Wurm enters the battlefield, its first ability triggers, causing you to gain 7 life.
Crystalline Crawler triggers, putting seven +1/+1 counters on itself.
Activate Crystalline Crawler's first ability seven times by removing seven +1/+1 counters from it, adding 4.
Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Pelakka Wurm.
When Pelakka Wurm dies, its second ability and Enduring Renewal trigger.
Resolve the Pelakka Wurm trigger, causing you to reveal the top card of your library and put it into your graveyard if its a creature card, or draw a card otherwise.
Resolve the Enduring Renewal trigger, returning Pelakka Wurm from your graveyard to your hand.
Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing target player to mill cards equal to Pelakka Wurm's power.
Repeat.
This clever loop transforms raw life into a ceaseless engine of destruction and card flow, powered by Enduring Renewal keeping our creatures safely out of permanent death and bouncing them straight back to hand whenever they leave the battlefield. When Pelakka Wurm enters the arena, its entry triggers a hefty life injection that, thanks to Light of Promise, instantly fattens up Crystalline Crawler with a mountain of +1/+1 counters. We can then peel those counters right off the Crawler for a surge of mana to recast the Wurm, while Altar of Dementia happily mills our opponents to dust each time the Wurm is sacrificed. Because Enduring Renewal also replaces our normal draws by dumping creature cards directly into the graveyard, every single noncreature card in your library smoothly slides into your hand along the way.
