How it works

1. Activate Jegantha by tapping it, adding that cannot be spent to pay generic mana costs.
2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Jegantha.
3. Activate Horde of Notions by paying , causing you to cast Jegantha from your graveyard without paying its mana cost.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Jegantha, the Wellspring into an endless engine of resurrection, fueled by its own restricted mana. Because Jegantha's tap ability produces the exact five-color mana requirement needed for Horde of Notions' activation, you can continually pay to fish the legendary Elk Elemental right back out of the graveyard and onto the battlefield. Phyrexian Altar is the linchpin that lets you sacrifice Jegantha in between loops, while converting it into any color of mana you might actually need for generic costs. Meanwhile, Rising of the Day quietly ensures that Jegantha enters the battlefield with immediate haste, allowing the tap ability to be used the very moment it returns.
