How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Golgari Thug.
2. When Golgari Thug dies, it and Weatherlight Compleated trigger.
3. Resolve the Golgari Thug trigger, putting it on top of your library from your graveyard.
4. Resolve the Weatherlight Compleated trigger, putting a phyresis counter on it and causing you to draw Golgari Thug from the top of your library.
5. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability from step 1, causing target player to mill cards equal to Golgari Thug's power.
6. Cast Golgari Thug by paying 0 due to Aluren.
7. Repeat.

This loop turns Aluren into a devastating engine by letting you cast Golgari Thug for free at instant speed, entirely bypassing traditional mana costs. Once on the battlefield, Altar of Dementia instantly converts the Thug into milled cards while triggering Weatherlight Compleated; the Compleated's triggered ability rewards this death by handing you the very card you need, while Golgari Thug's own trigger ensures it neatly replaces itself on top of your library to repeat the cycle indefinitely.
