How it works

1. At the beginning of your combat phase, Preston's first ability triggers, putting a Settlement Aura token onto the battlefield attached to a land you control.
2. Declare Preston and Hellkite Charger as attackers.
3. Preston's second ability and Hellkite Charger trigger.
4. Resolve the Preston trigger, untapping each enchanted permanent you control.
5. Activate any number of enchanted permanents you control by tapping them, adding at least 5.
6. Resolve the Hellkite Charger trigger, causing you to pay 5 to untap all attacking creatures and to get an additional combat phase after this one.
7. Repeat.

This brilliant engine relies on Preston Garvey, Minuteman to continuously generate green Settlement Aura tokens at the beginning of combat, transforming your lands into dynamic mana sources. When you declare both Preston and Hellkite Charger as attackers, Preston's attack trigger untaps every enchanted permanent you control. This allows you to tap your Settlement-boosted lands to easily produce the massive {5}{R}{R} mana payment required by Hellkite Charger. By paying that cost, Hellkite Charger grants you an additional combat phase, looping the entire process to secure infinite attacks and infinite untaps.
