How it works
- Cast Sacrifice by paying and sacrificing Scholar of the Ages, adding seven .
- Cast Footsteps of the Goryo by paying 2, returning Scholar of the Ages from your graveyard to the battlefield.
- Scholar of the Ages triggers, returning Sacrifice and Footsteps of the Goryo from your graveyard to your hand.
- Repeat.
This looping engine relies on Scholar of the Ages returning both of your key spells to your hand whenever it enters the battlefield. You use Sacrifice to send the Scholar to the graveyard while generating a massive influx of black mana based on its mana value. Then, Footsteps of the Goryo plucks Scholar of the Ages straight back out of the graveyard to restart the whole sequence.
