How it works

1. Cast Walking Ballista by paying 1, causing it to enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
2. Activate Together Forever by paying 1, targeting Walking Ballista.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Walking Ballista, adding CC.
4. When Walking Ballista dies, Together Forever triggers, returning Walking Ballista from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Repeat.

This delightful loop lets you cast and sacrifice Walking Ballista on an infinite loop, powered entirely by the mana economy of Ashnod's Altar and the protective recursion of Together Forever. Because Umori, the Collector shares the same card type as your spells and acts as your companion, it neatly reduces the casting cost of your artifacts or creatures to keep your mana positive. You spend just one mana to cast Walking Ballista, sacrifice it for two colorless mana to Ashnod's Altar, and use Together Forever's activated ability to bounce it right back to your hand when it dies, generating infinite death, sacrifice, and storm triggers along the way.
