How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Wretched Throng, adding CC.
2. When Wretched Throng dies, it and Pitiless Plunderer trigger.
3. Holding priority, activate Sundering Archaic by paying 2, putting Wretched Throng from your graveyard onto the bottom of your library.
4. Resolve the Pitiless Plunderer trigger, creating a Treasure token.
5. Resolve the Wretched Throng trigger, putting Wretched Throng from your library into your hand.
6. Activate the Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding .
7. Cast Wretched Throng by paying due to Umori.
8. Repeat.

This ingenious loop relies on a self-replacing chain of creatures to generate infinite deaths and triggers. When you feed Wretched Throng to Ashnod's Altar for mana, Pitiless Plunderer rewards the sacrifice with a Treasure token, while the Throng's own death trigger lets you search your library for another copy. Sundering Archaic steps in to recycle the dead Throng from your graveyard back to the bottom of your library so you never run out of targets to tutor. Finally, the cost reduction from Umori, the Collector makes recasting Wretched Throng cheap enough to fund entirely with your Treasures, keeping the cycle spinning infinitely.
