How it works

1. Kill Bog Initiate.
2. Brenard triggers, exiling Bog Initiate from your graveyard and creating a token copy of it thats a 1/1 Food Golem artifact creature in addition to its other types.
3. Activate the Bog Initiate token by paying 0 due to Sam, adding .
4. Repeat step 3.

This clever loop transforms a humble Bog Initiate into an infinite black mana engine by leveraging the replacement effects of Brenard, Ginger Sculptor and the cost-reduction of Sam, Loyal Attendant. When Bog Initiate dies, Brenard replaces it with a token copy that is conveniently both a Food and a Golem. Normally, activating that creature's ability would still cost one mana, but Sam, Loyal Attendant discounts the activated abilities of all your Foods by {1}, reducing the cost of the Bog Initiate token's ability to a mere {0}. Because the token retains the ability to convert {1} into {B}—and you can now do so for free—you can repeatedly activate it to generate an unlimited supply of black mana.
