How it works

1. Activate Ghave's first ability by paying 0 due to Sam and Ygra and removing a +1/+1 counter from a creature you control, creating a 1/1 Saproling creature token.
2. Activate Ghave's second ability by paying 0 and sacrificing the Saproling.
3. When the Saproling dies as a Food due to Ygra, Ygra triggers, putting two +1/+1 counters on it.
4. Resolve the Ghave ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
5. Repeat.

This synergy transforms your board into a self-sustaining engine built on the interaction between Ghave, Guru of Spores, Ygra, Eater of All, and Sam, Loyal Attendant. Because Ygra turns all other creatures into Food artifacts in addition to their other types, every Saproling you create also inherits the Food type and can be sacrificed to Ghave's ability. Meanwhile, Sam lowers the activation cost of your Foods to zero, meaning sacrificing these creature-Foods costs nothing while generating an influx of death and sacrifice triggers. When those creatures die, Ygra triggers to place fresh +1/+1 counters back onto Ghave, fueling an endless loop of token creation, sacrifices, and growing power.
