How it works

1. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing the persist creature.
2. When the persist creature dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Metallic Mimic.
3. Repeat.

This clever loop lets you turn a single persist creature into a self-sustaining engine of infinite resources. Every time you feed a creature to Thermopod for red mana, its persist ability brings it straight back from the graveyard, and Metallic Mimic steps in by granting that chosen creature type an extra +1/+1 counter to immediately cancel out the dreaded -1/-1 counter. Because the counter is completely negated on entry, the creature can be sacrificed over and over again to flood your pool with infinite red mana alongside endless death, sacrifice, and entry triggers.
