How it works

1. Create an artifact token.
2. When the artifact enters the battlefield, Battered Golem triggers, untapping itself.
3. Activate Battered Golem by tapping it, creating a copy of the artifact token.
4. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop turns a modest artifact token into an endless swarm by exploiting Battered Golem's unique knack for untapping whenever an artifact enters the battlefield. Thanks to Ghired, Mirror of the Wilds granting its haste-enabled activated ability to non-token creatures, that same Battered Golem can be tapped to duplicate whatever artifact token just arrived. Every time the resulting copy appears, it immediately triggers Battered Golem to untap itself anew, creating a perpetual motion machine of metal and momentum.
