How it works
- Activate Sensei's Divining Top's second ability by tapping it, causing you to draw a card and put Sensei's Divining Top on top of your library.
- Clinquant Skymage triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
- Cast Sensei's Divining Top from the top of your library by paying 0 and removing a counter from a creature you control.
- Repeat.
This clever loop turns your library into a self-sustaining engine by letting Sensei's Divining Top repeatedly draw itself and recast itself for free. While the traditional top-deck loop usually requires cost reducers, Falco Spara, Pactweaver bridges the gap by allowing you to bypass the mana cost altogether simply by stripping a counter off a creature you control. This is where Clinquant Skymage shines, steadily harvesting the draw triggers to generate a fresh +1/+1 counter on itself, which immediately serves as fresh fodder for Falco Spara's ability. Meanwhile, Gran-Gran sits on the sidelines, acting as an extra piece whose tapping ability loots cards or reduces noncreature costs if you have the Lessons for it, though the primary engine runs purely on the synergy between the Top, the Skymage, and the Pactweaver.
