How it works

1. Activate Gilded Lotus by tapping it, adding .
2. Cast Lifecraft Awakening by paying 1, putting a +1/+1 counter on Gilded Lotus and causing it to become a 0/0 Construct artifact creature until end of turn.
3. Cast Freed from the Real by paying 2, attaching it to Gilded Lotus.
4. Activate Freed from the Real's second ability by paying , untapping Gilded Lotus.
5. Activate Gilded Lotus by tapping it, adding .
6. Repeat from step 4.

This brilliant loop turns our favorite gilded artifact into an infinite mana engine by leveraging Lifecraft Awakening to give it the creature type it needs. Once Gilded Lotus is an artifact creature, Freed from the Real can enchant it directly, allowing its own untap ability to be fueled by the massive infusion of blue mana the Lotus produces on every tap. Because the Lotus taps for three mana while the untap ability costs only one, you net two mana with every single revolution of the cycle.
