How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Crookshank Kobolds
2. When Crookshank Kobolds dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Crookshank Kobolds from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Cast Crookshank Kobolds from the top of your library by paying 0 life.
4. Repeat.

This loop turns a tiny zero-mana threat into an engine of endless resources by leaning on Gwenom, Remorseless to bend the rules of how you cast your spells. While Gwenom allows you to bypass mana costs by paying life instead, Phyrexian Altar immediately refunds your investment in colored mana while sending the creature away. Mortuary catches the creature as it hits the graveyard, neatly recycling it back to the top of your library so Gwenom can let you cast it again. Because Crookshank Kobolds costs zero mana to begin with, you never actually drain your life total down to zero through Gwenom's alternative payment, letting you sacrifice and recast the Kobolds an infinite number of times.
