How it works

1. Activate Kumena's first ability by tapping another nontoken Merfolk you control.
2. Deeproot Pilgrimage triggers, creating a 1/1 Merfolk creature token.
3. Resolve the Kumena ability.
4. Activate Yahenni by sacrificing the Merfolk token.
5. When the Merfolk dies, Faces of the Past triggers, untapping all Merfolk.
6. Resolve the Yahenni ability.
7. Repeat.

This loop is a masterclass in turning a single tap into an engine of exponential growth, fueled entirely by the synergy between your aquatic tribe and the restless dead. By using Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca to tap a nontoken Merfolk, you immediately trigger Deeproot Pilgrimage to replace your tapped resource with a fresh 1/1 token.
