How it works
Activate Aerie Ouphes by sacrificing it, targeting any creature with flying.
When Aerie Ouphes dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with no -1/-1 counter on it due to Grumgully the Generous.
Holding priority, repeat from step 1.
Resolve all Aerie Ouphes abilities, dealing infinite damage to the targeted creature(s).
This clever loop turns Aerie Ouphes into a repeatable artillery piece by exploiting the clever math between persist and counters. Normally, persist would leave a -1/-1 counter behind to shut down future revivals, but Grumgully, the Generous steps in with a passive +1/+1 counter bonus for your non-Humans. When Aerie Ouphes returns, these two opposing counters annihilate each other instantly through state-based actions, resetting the Ouphes so you can sacrifice it all over again.
