How it works

1. Activate Aerie Ouphes by sacrificing it, targeting any creature with flying.
2. When Aerie Ouphes dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with no -1/-1 counter on it due to Renata.
3. Holding priority, repeat from step 1.
4. Resolve all Aerie Ouphes abilities, dealing infinite damage to the targeted creature(s).

This elegant little loop turns Aerie Ouphes into a relentless artillery piece, fueled entirely by the static blessing of Renata, Called to the Hunt. Normally, persist would bring Aerie Ouphes back with a -1/-1 counter that permanently shuts the loop down, but Renata's passive counter-buff counteracts this by granting an additional +1/+1 counter instead; through the rules of counter annihilation, the +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters cancel each other out entirely. This leaves the Ouphes completely clean of counters upon re-entry, allowing you to sacrifice it over and over again to rack up infinite sacrifices, enters-the-battlefield triggers, and a devastating stream of damage.
