How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and Pearl Medallion.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Soul Warden triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Whitemane Lion. When it enters, it and Soul Warden trigger.
5. Resolve the Whitemane Lion trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Soul Warden trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop lets you cast and bounce Whitemane Lion endlessly for zero mana, thanks to the cost-reducing power of Pearl Medallion combined with Defiler of Faith allowing you to pay life instead of mana. Each time the Lion and the Soldier token it triggers from Defiler of Faith enter the battlefield, Soul Warden continuously replenishes your life total so you can safely keep paying life into the Defiler. The result is an infinite storm count, endless creature tokens, and as much life as you could possibly desire from a single self-returning cat.
