How it works

1. Activate Bloodthrone Vampire by sacrificing a persist creature that does not have a -1/-1 counter on it.
2. When the creature dies, its persist ability and Bhaal trigger.
3. Resolve the Bhaal trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on the remaining persist creature.
4. Resolve the sacrificed creature's persist trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. Resolve the Bloodthrone Vampire ability from step 1.
6. Repeat.
