How it works

  1. Cast Time Walk by paying its mana cost, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
  2. Activate Magar by paying 1B manaR mana, noting Time Walk and putting it face down as a 3/3 creature.
  3. Move to your next turn.
  4. Deal combat damage to an opponent with the face down creature.
  5. The face down creature triggers, causing you to cast a copy of Time Walk without paying its mana cost.
  6. Resolve the copy of Time Walk, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
  7. Repeat from step 3.

This vintage-legal engine hinges on turning graveyard spells into persistent threats, using Magar of the Magic Strings to animate Time Walk as a face-down 3/3 creature. Whenever that disguised sorcery successfully connects in combat, Magar's granted trigger lets you cast a free copy of Time Walk to take an extra turn. Because every extra turn gives your 3/3 creature another chance to strike uninterrupted, you lock the game down in a perpetual loop of infinite turns.
